Tesla has filed a new application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to suggest that automobile companies can venture into the world of airplanes, boats and other “non-land” vehicles.The application was submitted to the U.S. Patent Office on December 28, 2022, and the image contained in the application is not new, but the description is clear.According to the U.S. Patent Office website, Tesla wants their trademarks to include boats, airplanes and toys as well as cars and trucks. “Asynchronous motors for non-land vehicles, aircraft motors, synchronous motors for non-land vehicles, permanent magnet motors, boat motors, driving systems with two or more synchronous motors coupled through clutches to drive common loads, toy electric motors, linear motors” via Electric

The application has not yet been approved, and the current status is “waiting review,” but Tesla is unlikely to receive approval for the change.But that doesn’t mean we have to look forward to seeing Tesla boats and airplanes in the near future.Masks have shown a lot of interest in electric airplanes in the past. In 2020, the CEO said that within five years, a battery large enough to power an airplane with a high life cycle and more energy density (400Wh/kg).Tesla has no immediate plans to develop electric planes, but some have already flown them.Canada’s Harbor Air won the world’s first commercial electric flight honor for its test flight of a MagniX-powered electric waterplane.
MagniX also took part in another test flight in May, the first successful flight of the world’s largest electric plane.
